[ACLA-CAAL] Announcement

I serve on the board of The Canadian Modern Language Review as the Indigenous Languages and Literacies Director. I am excited to share that we now have a Best Indigenous Languages Graduate Paper Award to celebrate the work being done in reclaiming languages and to highlight new and emerging Indigenous scholars working in Indigenous language revitalization.
We are currently inviting suggestions for naming this award in honour of a person who has demonstrated excellence in making a real difference in communities deeply threatened with the loss of their language.
Please email your suggestion directly to belinda.daniels at uvic.ca. In your email please include your name, affiliation, self-location, and a rationale for the name you are suggesting.

À titre de directrice des langues et littératies autochtones au conseil d’administration de La Revue canadienne des langues vivantes, j’ai le plaisir de vous annoncer la création du Prix du meilleur article de fin d’études sur les langues autochtones, qui vise à souligner le travail accompli en matière de réappropriation linguistique et à mettre en valeur la relève autochtone œuvrant à la revitalisation des langues autochtones.
Nous sollicitons actuellement des suggestions de noms pour ce prix afin d’honorer une personne qui s’est distinguée par son apport remarquable auprès de communautés qui sont menacées de perdre leur langue.
