Call for submissions 2026
Canadian Modern Language Review: Larry Vandergrift Best Graduate Paper<https://utppublishing.com/journals/cmlr/larry-vandergrift-award>
Deadline: November 20, 2026

The Larry Vandergrift Best Graduate Paper Award is an annual competition open to currently registered graduate students and recent graduates (within the previous academic year). It is offered in memory of the late Dr. Larry Vandergrift, a Canadian applied linguist and former editor of the Canadian Modern Language Review (CMLR/RCLV).

Submitted papers must adhere to all requirements for regular submissions and report original qualitative or quantitative research on a topic related to second language teaching and learning. For this year’s competition, submissions are due by November 20, 2026, and will be evaluated by the editors and members of the editorial board. The winning submission is normally published the following year.

For an excellent example of an award-winning article, see Stephanie Kinzies’s “Language Ideologies and English for Academic Purposes Writing: A Case in Ontario.”

For more information, see “Guidelines for Authors” on the CMLR website<https://utppublishing.com/journals/cmlr/guidelines-for-authors>.

Date limite : 20 novembre, 2026
