Email conventions seeping into handwriting

    This is kind of hard to explain.  It's meant to look like a person
sticking out his or her tongue...  It might be used to respond to a
teasing remark, e.g.

Typist 1:  You know, you sitting there and screaming at ESPN's game
update online won't help your team win...

Typist 2:  Hmmmmph.  :P

Typist 1:  :)

    Johanna, who has had exactly this exchange online before...
