      After Jim Bouton published his book BALL FOUR, the reception from the
baseball world was less than kind.  At that time, athletes simply didn't
write books!  And by himself--without a ghost writer!  And about current
teammates!
      Bouton often recounted the player reaction:  "Fuck you, Shakespeare!"
