I had a friend (now deceased) who consistently described a flock of small
birds that frequented her Victoria B.C. garden as "little brown jobbies."
The others that invaded her (and our) bird feeders were "the flying pigs" -
actually they were blue tits, but had incredibly voracious appetites for their
size.
