Jesse and Scott have pointed out that this word has been generic for
'dictionary' since 1915 or so. Granted; but it's hardly scholarly to use it so
in a research context! (IMHO-- because it's imprecise and suggests ignorance.)
Of course, this Hooser fellow is evidently no scholar anyway.
