Inserted Z

A coworker claims that hip-hop/rap habit of inserting "z" into non-Z one syllable words, such as "ch-zill" or "dr-zowned" or "huh-zouse" started with double dutch rope skippers in the black neighborhoods in order to make the skipping songs' meter work.

Anybody heard of this?
