The New York Times, 14 October 1999, Circuits section, pg. 4, col. 5:

_Savoring Words, Plain and Fancy_
by Bonnie Rothman Morris

The entire article should be at www.nytimes.com, or Lexis/Nexis. The sites mentioned were:

www.m-w.com
www.oed.com/wordofday.htm
www.wordsmith.org/awad/index.html
www.word-detective.com
www.randomhouse.com/jesse
www.quinion.com/words

The NY Times writer named Morris should have said that she's not related to Evan Morris. Basic stuff.
Melanie's site is not listed (for better or worse). Where's Gareth Branwyn? Where's Paul McFedries????
Even the sites that are here are not properly researched. Any idiot checking out Jesse Sheidlower's Random House word-of-the-day site can clearly see that, since 10-5-99 (www.randomhouse.com/jesse/?date=19991005), Jesse's not writing it!
How many years does it take for the New York Times to get an ombudsman (even the Washington Post has one), for a guy like me to write in with an obvious correction, and for that correction to be published?
