Rain=Raymond

Perhaps "Raymond" = "Rain Man". That comes, of course, from the movie "Rain
Man" ('88? '89?) where the Tom Cruise character called his brother (Dustin
Hoffman) "Rain Man" as a kid because that's what he thought people were
saying instead of "Raymond." Maybe the screenwriter was picking up on some
old Raymond/Rain Man connection.
