Iowa has a Byou-n@ Vista. And GUT- at n-burg. The classic is N at -'vay-d@ for
Nevada. Much of this is from giving the spelling its logical AmE
pronunciation. By a certain logic, then, these renderings are 'correct' in
that Iowa is the heardland of the classic General American accent.
