No.  First, there is no such thing as General American.  A lot of
broadcasters speak Inland Northern, which is a regional dialect with extra
money and a leg up in systems of higher ed.  Moreover, Iowa has at least two
dialects.  As anyone in Iowa City about "Southern Iowa."  If you can tell
the difference, moreover, between Inland Northern (which my mother learned
in Chester, n. Iowa) and North Midland, you have three.
