I don't think so. I knew enough German to distinguish between "ich" and
"man." And it went along with some other endearing German characteristics,

I guess I should have bracketed that in big smileys. My point was that,
while the German in question may have called German "the only language in
which this can be done" and meant it, the truth is that German was the only
language in which HE was able to do it.
