I've been watching this discussion with great interest.
The Aus data are morphophonologically conditioned: only in
prefixes, only pretonic. "Prevert" I haven't heard here,
and would not expect to. The American data are more clearly
phonological, but what kind of rationale is driving this
phenomenon I don't know.
