I've just reestablished internet connection following a lapse of about
5 days.  I do not know what has been said prior to this in the thread.
However, it may be helpful from a non-dialect point of view to read an
article by Dr. Reason A. Goodwin entitled "Modern Russian Words In
English Writing," in _The Barnhart Dictionary Companion_ (Vol. 1.2,
1982, pp 17-23).  There is more on the Russian words taken into English
in the Dictionary Companion.  For those interested I can provide a copy.
