More "shoes"

In the Feb. 2000 issue of the Yale Alumni Magazine, there is a letter to the
editor:

"We offended in various ways against the Yale mainstream:  attacking secret
societies and fraternities, endorsing coeducation, ridiculing "shoe" culture -
and going relatively dateless."

This was part of a letter by a member of the class of '57.
