Hello.

I am the word list manager for the Scripps Howard National Spelling Bee.  I
write a weekly web page for grade-school students at
http://www.spellingbee.com/cctoc.htm

I believe I heard on the ABC national news last night that the American
Dialect Society has had a "Word of the Year" since 1900 or so.  Is this true?

Could you please send to me (or point me to a web address) a list of every
"Word of the Year" since the inception of the selection?  I would like to
provide this list to the students in a "Just for Fun" segment of "Carolyn's
Corner" next week.
