Since no one else posted this, I'll do it.
Airline personnel picketed numerous airports last week asking for
legislation to protect them from unruly passengers, or to at least
give them ways of dealing with such people--stronger penalties, etc.
Such passengers were said to be exhibiting "air rage," as parallel to
"road rage" of a few years ago.
I'm not sure that the parallel is valid--the "rage" of "road rage"
was pretty much based on anger and frustration leading to shots fired
car-to-car or fisticuffs on the exit ramp, where the "rage" in "air
rage" often seems to be just one too many cocktails leading to
insults of flight attendants or other types of unruly behavior.
Still, ours is not to question why...
