Hair cutting places

To me, a barber shop has always been a place that does simple haircuts
(maybe feathering or some other common popular technique as well) for men
and maybe shaves. They don't do anything fancy, though. Parents and
grandparents take young kids (under 10 or 11) there for haircuts as well.

Usually a couple of old-timers or friends of the barbers are sitting around
reading the paper or Playboy, talking about sports.

Although I've never confirmed this particular image, I have verified
differentiation between hair cutting places and barber shops.

An example of a chain is Supercuts, though I don't know how widespread it
is.
