Thanks to Don Lance for adding an example illlustrating that "try and" can
occur after the modal "will":

        "I'll try and see if I can't do that".

It can also occur with other modals as well:

        I can try and fix it for you.
        I should try and get ready earlier.
        I may try and get to bed earlier.
