The following site provides a listing of the Most Popular 100 Internet
Search Words, as well as listings of other most popular search
(whatever).
http://www.searchwords.com/

Can't find much as to the process used by the site, but that info may
reside in a link somewhere.  There may be similar 'most popular' sites
around, but the only other one that I've seen provides a real-time
streaming list.
