Query: Midwestern Female Speech More Accented than Male?

I dunno about this, but I have noticed that in my husband's hometown (Bristol
England), the women seem to have a different accent than the men.  To the point
where even _I_ can imitate the differences.  I suppose I should bring this up on
EDIE-CECTAL.
