Actually do[umlaut]n- is the root (="turn", infinitive,
do[umlaut]nmek = to turn). The letter in do[umlaut]ner which is influenced
by the principle of vowel-harmony is the "e". Also, in speech, the final
"b" in kebab is often devoiced to p.
