    John Mariani's ENCYCLOPEDIA OF AMERICAN FOOD & DRINK (1999): "The term
'Baked Alaska' dates in print at least to 1905 and was used by Fannie Merritt
Farmer in the 1909 edition of her cookbook."
    MRS. RORER'S NEW COOK BOOK (1902) by Sarah Tyson Rorer has:

    "Eggs Japanese" is on page 253.  I'll do some more work on Eggs Japonais.
