weird tribute

I was reading the humor site "The Brunching Shuttlecocks" and found that
their feature today is "Headlines for Children"--a take-off on a feature
in the kid's magazine _Highlights for Children_, in which good and bad
manners are demonstrated by Goofus and Gallant.  The joke is here that
they've taken  newspaper headlines and replaced the names in them with
Goofus or Gallant.  So, it is a weird tribute to Guralnik that he turned
up as Gallant:

Goofus, a romance writer of more than 700 novels, passes away at age 98.
Gallant, famed lexicographer and dictionary editor, dies at age 79.
