    The U.S. Surgeon General declared last Friday that there was a "silent
epidemic" of oral diseases that afflict minorities and low-income Americans.

    The "Silent Epidemic" & "Silent Killer" cliches keep right on coming.
    A check of Google.com shows that the "Silent Epidemic" is:

Alzheimer's Disease; heart disease in women; loneliness; misuse of
medications; acquaintance rape; lead; hearing loss; eating disorders;
workplace bullying; violence against nurses; inhalant abuse; osteoporosis;
hysterectomies; HIV; genital herpes; Hepatitis C; intimacy and depression;
drug abuse in sports; eating disorders, falling down; dementia; et al.

    This modern "silent" cliche must be golden.
