"Mothers aren't the only ones stealing baby formula, store
managers say. Some people steal it so they can resell it. And some
grocery stock boys and cashiers give it to friends and family
members who have babies. (Cashiers do something called 'sliding
groceries,' in which they slide the item over the bar code reader so the
price doesn't ring up in the cash register.)"
