NEW YORK EVENING GRAPHIC (continued)

Greetings from the Free Library of Philadelphia.
I have just checked out Macfadden's PHILADELPHIA DAILY NEWS. Walter
Winchell's columns are NOT there. (FWIW: There is a sports column called "In
the Groove.")
There is no substitute for finding Macfadden's NEW YORK EVENING GRAPHIC.
Simple help from an ADS member at the NEW YORK TIMES, of course, will be
nil.

--------------------------------------------------------
EURO SANDWICHES

Euro sandwiches were not in Amsterdam, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Norway,
Sweden, Denmark.
I last saw them in the Pittsburgh airport.
This is from the menu of By George, Reading Terminal Market, 12th &
Filbert Streets, Philadelphia:

EURO SANDWICH 5.95 ea.
fresh mozzarella, tomato, portabella mushrooms, roasted peppers, basil,
broccoli rabe & grilled eggplant

No "Euro" currency is included in the sandwich.

--------------------------------------------------------
PHILLY STEAKS

   Another menu is:

RICKS PHILLY STEAKS
Originator of the "Philadelphia Cheese Steak"
Celebrating 68 Years of Operation in the "City of Cheese Steaks"
Official Cheese Steak of The National Republican Convention (I thought
that was Cheney. A joke--ed.)
12th and Arch Streets
Reading Terminal Market
Philadelphia, PA 19107

Thing thing supposedly began in 1932. An article about it titled "Steak
King" was in the PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER MAGAZINE, 22 July 1951, pg. 17.
