"Xmas" doesn't exactly fall into the category of simplified, reformed or
"lite" spelling, being a reference to the early use of X (Greek chi) as
both an abbreviation for the word /christ/ and symbol for the idea (&/or
entity) of Jesus. With time & use I suppose it accrues a  connotation of
"lite"ness, perhaps even rudeness or profanity, to the faithful...?
