The Wall Street Journal of 25 October 2000, Wednesday, on p. A1, col. 4,
continued to p. A14 col. 6, presents an article titled:  Talkin'
Baseball Means Wall Street Lingo Comes Into Play; subtitled: Chuck
Knoblauch Is the Nasdaq, He Has Ups and Downs; See Bubba, Think
Buffett.  The article is written by Gregory Zuckerman.

Basically, the article discusses baseball terminology that is derived
from Wall Street terminology.  "Today, you need a day-trader's
dictionary to talk baseball."  "Throughout history, baseball players
have taken cues from the industrialists of the moment, says Skip McAfee.
. . .", e.g., the railroad & shipping industries, and WWII military.

Skip McAfee, editor of "The New Dickson Baseball Dictionary" is quoted,
as is Paul Dickson, author of the baseball dictionary.
