Just another example of 'verbing', addressed eloquently by Calvin in the
comic strip:

"Verbing weirds language."

A Web search for "factioning" + "factioned" returned 685 hits, and a quick
glance suggests that they're mostly relevant. The verb "faction" is not too
rare, apparently.
