rime/rhyme

My dictionaries tell me that rime/rhyme are just variations in
spelling, but as linguists (especially you phonologists and those of
you who teach poetry) can you tell me whether you differentiate
between the two? To rephrase the question, do those of you who have
a technical term 'rime' also have a technical term 'rhyme' and if so
what is each for? (Ignoring, of course, the one that means a coating
of ice.)
Thanks much,
Lynne
