In listening to npr talk of the nation today Juan William's pronounced
Pulitzer  with a long u i.e.. Pewlitzer

I have always thought is was pronounced "Pullitzer" and have notices this
alternate pronunciation
more recently.  It there a correct pronunciation?  If so what?
