Clemintines briefly revisited

In my experience, it's always 'clementine' (as in 'my darling Clementine').
I have difficulty seeing how 'clemintine' would be formed, whereas
'clementine' is a transparent diminutive of 'clement', a man's given name or
a Latin-derived adjective meaning 'mild, merciful'.

Greengrocers, however, are notorious for their misspellings.
