The problem sometimes arises with people who use two different
pronounciations of their own names. For example Colin Powell. Is it
Coe-lin or Coll-in? Well, it's both. His family used Coll-in, but when he
got out into the world he found Coe-lin more comfortable.

I am particularly aware of this. I was raised as Can'-bell. When I left
the area, I found that the more common pronunciation was Cam-bull. Now
that I have moved back after three decades, I don't know who I am.
