A segue' from the railway/railroad station post...
The number of Americans who take railroad or commuter trains vs. trams
or subways must impact what we call the station. I think in Boston
people still refer to the MTA station or just the MTA... just as NYers
refer to the subway rather than the subway station. The commuter
railways are referred to as the LIRR or Long Island station; in
Westchester do they refer to the metroliner station or just the train
station? In places without commuter trains do people still say Amtrak
station? (we lost our Amtrak station 20 yrs ago)
