The only time I've heard 'depot' here that I can recall was when I was a
subject in a psych experiment.  One part involved reading a bunch of
uncommon, orthographically unhelpful English words.  "Depot" was one, and
it was an issue because I said "DEE-po", which means she almost marked me
'wrong' for it, because it's pronounced "deh-po" here.  So--I don't think
"DEE-poh" is limited to the south, since I use it.
