Just in case the issue arises in someone's class:

Ghosting around in my briefcase was the following Dec. 13 sub-head from
the NYT, ultimate proof that the split infinitive is no longer an
issue--at least among that paper's editors:

Testaverde
To Probably
Play Against
Lions Sunday

No typographical justifications necessary here, either. If To and Probably
were reversed, the words would take up the same space on the line.
