Turkey Marco Polo

    Where does "Turkey Marco Polo" come from?
    (Don't say China.  He never went to China.  His writings don't mention the Great Wall or the binding of women's feet.  There's also a "new" book, first released in England and hotly debated about authenticity, that pre-dates Marco Polo...but I digress.)
   As posted before, DINING OUT IN HOLLYWOOD AND LOS ANGELES (1949) had "Turkey Marco Polo" at several restaurants.
