BBC Prime just ran a Parkinson interview with singer Robbie Williams (formerly of
the group Take That). At one point, Robbie said something like, "The songs were
popular, played at every hatch, match and dispatch." He restated himself, indicating that
means births, weddings and funerals.
New term for me, but a quick web search seems to show "hatch, match and dispatch" is
commonly used in a religious congregational sense and in geneology research.
Anyway.
