The VILLAGE VOICE, 27 February 2001, pg. 33, "Machine Age" by Russ Kick, has a story on "Gotcha! The Latest Ways Big Brother's Watching You."
"Brain fingerprinting" is mentioned:
This technology, developed by former Harvard neuroscientist Lawrence Farwell, is based on the theory that your gray matter lets loose with distinctive brainwaves when presented with details of something you've done, whether a crime or a chore. Farwell says the process is 100 percent accurate, a claim disputed by other scientists; an Iowan judge will soon be ruling on the technique's admissibility in court. (...) Farwell's Web site (www.brainwavescience.com) ominously mentions the possiblity of corporations using the technology.
"Brain fingerprinting" was the supject of a 60 MINUTES piece in December 2000.
Also mentioned in the story are "speed limiters" that use Global Positioning Satellites, and "X-Ray vision spray" that you can spritz on an envelope to read the contents without opening it.
