Murphy's Law

FWIW, Edward A. Murphy, Jr., appeared in "People" (weekly) on 31 January
1983 (pp. 81-2). There are pictures of him at age 65, (1) talking with
Laurence Peter ("Peter Principle") and (2) "dropping his groceries" (of
course the expensive wine breaks but not the cheap soda-pop, ha ha).

Murphy is quoted here as stating that his "Law" has been misconstrued: "My
original statement was to warn people to be sure that they cover all the
bases ... It was never meant to be fatalistic."
