I find this "chalk" only in Webster's Third Intl., and only with reference
to horse-race betting; it's not labeled "slang" or anything. No "chalky".
Chapman's dictionary has "chalk-player", = "one who bets on the favorites".
I wonder why the dictionaries are missing this "chalk".
