Irresistible Force

It isn't quite Aquinas, but here's an earlier reference to the
irresistible force/immovable object conundrum. By the cartoonist Jack Cole
(his first professional sale), "A Boy and His Bike," in an unspecified 1935
issue of Boys' Life and reprinted in Spiegelman & Kidd, Jack Cole and
Plastic Man: Forms Stretched to Their Limits, page 10 (2001):

>>When an irresistible force meets an im-<<

Here the reprint is cut off, but it's enough to show that the phrase
was sufficiently well-known to be used without explanation in a publication
for children in 1935. Unless, of course, there was an explanation on the
unreprinted next page.
