Early-mid 60s, Des Moines (Brownies) & northern MN (summer camp) S'mores: marshmallow on a stick roasted over a campfire until marshmallow blackens. Then marshmallow removed from stick by smooshing it between two graham crackers, on one of which, a few squares of a Hersey bar has been placed. No stove, no broiler, no kitchen, never open-faced. beth simon
