There's at least one story featuring Madison Ave metaphors that Walt Kelly
created for his Pogo comics. Featuring Albert Alligator, etc. Don't think
Pogo himself participates beyond his (frequent) role as bemused observer.
It is a hoot. Now I see that it wasn't really exaggerated that much at all.
I haven't tried to find it in my Pogo collection (haven't even tried to find
my Pogo collection!), so can't tell you the date, but it's probably from
around the same time as the Crosby piece. If anyone is interested, I can
check it out.
