Okay, David, since you insist. My univ. maintains a "speaker bureau" - if
you sign up, agrreeing to speak to a few groups each year, you list the
topics you are willing to talk about to Rotary, women's clubs, etc. I
used to do that, and some of my topics involved language variation. At one
time there was also such a list for invididuals willing to go to K-12
schools. I don't know whether it continues.

Another vehicle used to be state NEH grants.
