A reader of my website responded with an antedating of the verb "to bogart"
at least a year earlier than the earliest cite in RHHDAS. That dic gives
1969 and the film "Easy Rider" as its first citation.

"Bogart" actually appears in 1968. The song "Don't Bogart Me" by Elliot
Ingber and Larry Wagner appears on Fraternity Of Man's eponymous album,
released 24 June 1968 by ABC Records. The song was later covered by the band
Little Feat under the title "Don't Bogart That Joint." Also, my
understanding (never having seen the movie) is that the word's appearance in
"Easy Rider" is actually in the song, which is playing in one of the scenes.
The song also appears on the movie's soundtrack.

Lyrics:

Don't bogart that joint, my friend
Pass it over to me.
Don't bogart that joint, my friend
Pass it over to me.

Roll another one
Just like the other one.
This one's burnt to the end
Come on and be a friend.

Don't bogart that joint, my friend
Pass it over to me.
Don't bogart that joint, my friend
Pass it over to me.

Roll another one
Just like the other one.
You've been hanging on to it
And I sure would like a hit.

Don't bogart that joint, my friend
Pass it over to me.
Don't bogart that joint, my friend
Pass it over to me.
