Working in the Washington, DC defense/national security field in the '90s we
had a different use of the word "Christian."

It was a security faux pas to mention the names of people who worked for the
CIA in connection with that organization (you could always spot the CIA
people at meetings because their name badges read "US Government" instead of
"Dept. of Defense" or "Dept. of Energy.") Instead, we informally referred to
the organization as "Christians In Action" and the employees as simply
"Christians" (sarcastic overtones of evangelism and doing "God's work"
overseas). "Where's Mary working these days? Oh, she's with the Christians
now."
