Dingbats (was Reuben & Rachel)

If you don't want look like cole slaw with Thousand Island dressing (i.e.
red-faced), it helps to look at the dictionaries before talking about a new
word.

OED2 has a lengthy entry for "dingbat", with so many different meanings even
they couldn't keep them straight.  MWCD10 then proceeds to have a definition
NOT in the OED---a typeface of ornaments (which is what the "dingbat"
typefaces on Windows and Mac are).

And I thought I knew typography...
