   From today's NEW YORK POST (www.nypost.com), 4 August 2002, pg. 3, col. 4:

   Move over, Viagra--here comes Melanotan.
(...)
Melanotan--a synthetic version of a natural cell-activating hormone called
alpa-MSE, which the body produces after a sunburn--was found to have other
effects, including suppressing appetite and stimulating sexual desire.
"It so happens that one very astute observer who took this drug reported
to us that he was developing spontaneous erections," said Levine, who then
joined forces with urologists to (Col.. 5--ed.) try and develop the new drug
as an anti-impotence cure.
Researchers said Melanotan--which has been dubbed the "Barbie" tablet for
its potential to make people look beautiful--works directly on the brain,
where it affects a human's sexual desire as well as performance.

(Barbie tablet? Actor George Hamilton is being shortchanged in the slang
naming here...It's not available yet, so it'll be at least a year before
it'll come up in Among the New Words. as Viagra did--ed.)
